Cutting through the noise when it comes to health and wellness

Are you still going strong with your New Years’ resolution?

You may have noticed that Align didn’t bombard you with New Years’ resolution opportunities to get fit, lose weight, give up smoking or manage your wellness…

Do you want to know why?

When we are constantly pushed and pulled and nagged and dragged into doing something such as action a new years’ resolution, the results are more often than not, a bit of a flop. It is reported that almost 70% of New Years’ resolutions are disregarded after less than four weeks. Eeek… all those great intentions! At Align, we believe this has little to do with an individuals’ staying power, determination, resilience or stamina. We happen to believe it’s because the wave of resolution madness is often unrealistic and does little to support long term goals.

Anyone else feel the anticlimax from the ‘New Year, new me’ vibe after a few weeks into the year? We certainly did. That’s the reason we thought we’d leave you get your feet under the table of 2020 before we reach out to see if we can help support you on your wellness journey.

So, here we are in 2020 and the world is on a mega wellness trip. It’s like we can all be a little bit deceived by the notion that a jump start and sprint towards our goals can be achieved in 21 days, or a month (if only!). Look around, everything from shampoo and soap to financial loans and holidays, restaurants, bank accounts and electronics – they all have one thing in common; the reference of wellbeing in their marketing and advertising. It seems nothing can be sold these days without some form of wellness attribution or another. It’s this kind of marketing trickery that can confuse and even bamboozle some people. Just about every brand on the planet jumps on the bandwagon of health benefits when they launch their campaigns at the start of the year. Why? To capitalise on peoples’ desire to feel healthy and fit.

The truth is, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution and there are no short cuts when it comes to feeling and staying well. A new app, or 30-day weight loss programme, with a jolt into the New Year may well get you started, but its commitment, effort and support that establish better habits and in turn, a healthier and happier you.

At Align, we cut through the noise of wellness wording, marketing spiel and often empty promises made in regard to your optimum health. We aim to provide real talk, real action and a real plan for our clients and this is how we get real results. No nonsense and definitely no trickery. We don’t believe in fads or quick fixes when it comes to our approach to your long-term wellness and as far as we’re concerned, its always a good time to start taking better care of yourself; you decide when’s good for you.

By taking off the pressure and keeping things tailored to our clients’ needs, we make our service understandable and manageable. Our team believes that we can change behaviour and effect long term benefits to our clients’ wellness when we work together. As we’ve always said, health is a journey, not a destination and as a health agency, we are committed to creating the best opportunities for our clients to feel their best. It stems from a strong belief in considerate planning and consistent support that makes our work successful. Maintaining your wellness doesn’t necessarily mean bags of money and hours of time every week; it can be simple and effective as long as it’s steady and mindful.

Avoiding the pressure attached to the heavy bombardment of expectation and trends associated with things like New Years’ resolutions often enables us the clarity and calmness to effect better change. Don’t get us wrong, for many people, New Year can mark the start of the perfect time for change, but for many of us, we just get swept up in all the excitement then, once January passes and the rhetoric of ‘New Year, new you’ quietens down, it’s a downward slope back into old habits. So, how do we stay on track when we effect change for the better? We’ll give you a couple of clues; autonomy (you) and Align (us).

  1. Autonomy: This is where you decide, under your own steam, that you want to feel more healthy and well.
  2. Align: You contact us and we essentially give you a full ‘MOT’ consultation. Then we plan and support you.

If you’re feeling like now is the time for you to take a look at your overall health, or address any niggling pains or issues you might have, why not drop us a line today to see what we can do to make 2020 your year.
