Align Fitness

Align Fitness is our very own dedicated functional fitness area and is managed by Nick Dingle, one of Jersey’s leading personal fitness, strength and conditioning coaches. We opened our own functional fitness area because we recognise fitness and nutrition play a key role in long-term good health, and to complement our other services.

Whether you’re using Align Fitness to improve your general health or recovering from injury or illness, we can help achieve your potential. It is part of our holistic approach to improve your mind, body and spirit and reduce your risk of injury and illness.

What services does Align Fitness offer?

Nick and his team can tailor packages to suit individual requirements, working with you and our practitioners, with a wide range of training tools available. We provide personal training sessions for 1:1 attention. We will soon be offering studio classes in yoga, kids yoga, pilates, foam rolling, early riser circuits and a distracted stretching class. Our programmes can improve mobility while increasing strength and decreasing body fat, developing this into a strength programme that can be maintained and developed over time.

Who is it for?

Fitness training is for anyone, from kids to older people. Anyone who wants to move or improve their fitness can get involved. We can design programmes for elite sports people to those just looking to stay fit and healthy.

What are the benefits?

We work on muscular function and activation for improved posture. We tackle those daily aches and pains. We can help with weight loss, heart function, improving your immune system, co-ordination, self-esteem, mental health, stress, digestion and increasing lung function.

  • Yoga to relax the mind, body and spirit. Calm the soul through a gentle stretching session.
  • Pilates offers a full body workout focusing on the stabilising of muscles, core strength and spinal articulation.
  • Early riser high-intensity circuit class gets the heart pumping and the body moving. Based on body weight exercises working on intervals, with a focus around core strength and aerobic improvements.
  • Kids yoga teaches youngsters to relax and stretch, move and breathe.
  • Foam rolling gives you techniques on how to self-manage any tight muscles around the body.
  • Functional training exercises that training the body for daily activities to tackle aches and pains, while a high intensity workout which is sure to get the heart rate up.
  • Functional movement screen
  • Strength and conditioning is a bespoke training programme to get your muscles working to the maximum. Interval training is used to improve lung and heart function and to help shape that body you want.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring?

You need to bring a towel and a bottle of water. Wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move freely. We also have showers and lockers so you can work out at any point of the day and freshen up before your next appointment or work commitment.

How fit do I need to be?

We train people of all fitness levels, tailoring our sessions to make sure we are pushing your limits, nobody else's. We monitor you during the session to make sure you are ok, then evaluate at the end.

What else can I do to get me to my goal?

Get enough sleep and rest. You won't be able to train every day with the same routine, but we can develop a weekly programme so you get the most from each session. Be patient - you won’t see results within the next hour, but within a month or so you will begin to notice clothes fit differently before results on the scales or in the mirror. Your trainer will keep a diary for you so we can see the improvement in your fitness performance.

What do I need to eat?

Make sure you get enough good food during the day. We recommend eating ‘as clean as possible’ by cooking from scratch as often as you can. You’ll need plenty of and carbohydrates to keep you going during the day. Not eating enough won't help you achieve your goals.

How often can I train?

You can train every day, but not a full session. Depending on your programme, you could do strength training days interspersed by cardio days.

Nick Dingle

Fitness Director

One of Jersey’s leading personal fitness trainers, Nick has more than 10 years of experience in helping people make the most of their potential in the health and fitness sector. Nick, who is one of the four Align founders, has supported office workers improve their fitness, injured sports people with their rehabilitation as well as players at Jersey Reds rugby club by taking a holistic approach and tailoring sessions to individual needs. After a degree in sports coaching science at the University of Chichester, Nick completed his level three personal training qualification and launched a successful personal trainer business in Jersey. During this time, he also worked as a strength and conditioning coach with the Jersey sports foundation and Jersey rugby club. Nick works with clients to build fun and imaginative personalised training programmes that consider their hectic lifestyles and emotional wellbeing to ensure they get the most out of sessions, whether that’s three one-hour sessions or 30 minutes a week to support goals being reached. Mobility training and flexibility work is a key element, helping clients move freely during and after sessions. With back to basics teaching to provide basic movement patterns, Nick then builds a before a programme designed to delivers results they require to fit with the lifestyle they have. Mobility is developed through body weight exercises, foam rolling and distracted stretching. Nick also gives clients a base in strength training designed to allow them to do what they want when they want without feeling those niggles or pains. He also has qualifications, including as a kettle bell instructor, in circuit training, as a nutritional advisor, strength and conditioning, training plan programming and Olympic weight lifting.

Nathan truly believes that each client should be fully engaged with their fitness and lifestyle goals and each client is unique... one size doesn't fit all... Lasting results come when clients love what they do and still look forward to each session. Nathan has travelled the world and trained with some of the world's Elite fitness coaches and a peak performance psychologist. His work is grounded in established scientific proven methods, and he is always open minded to and researching for new, fun and effective programmes that are based on results driven methodology. Nathan is a qualified Personal Trainer L3 CYQ & Training for Warriors Level 1. Andrew Wood. Hannah Jacques

After training and working as a professional dancer in London, Hannah gained her Level 3 Personal Training qualification in 2009, and has since worked with a wide range of clients in London and Jersey. Hannah is a total fitness specialist and a keen spinning instructor, and recently took part in the Jersey Triathlon Relay (Cycling) and has also competed in Muay Thai Boxing fights. Hannah’s training sessions are specifically designed to suit each individual client, always striving to get the very best out of each person, and always taking the individual further than they ever thought they’d go. Anything from strength work, functional fitness, boxing, high intensity circuit style training, to flexibility, mobility and sports specific training, Hannah has a wealth of experience in all areas. In 2017 Hannah expanded her personal training practice and launched Jacques Elite Personal Training and Wellness, welcoming in other trainers and offering a more well rounded service, now including Online PT Support. Hannah is also qualified in the Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT Tapping, and can now work with clients and clear any emotional blocks, fears or limiting beliefs that might hinder their physical performance. Hannah is a confidence building trainer with a passion for making training fun! You will leave satisfied and feeling amazing! Yann is a lovely, bouncy boy whose conditions include hyperactivity and difficulties with perception and his senses, which affect his behaviour and handwriting. He is also hyper-vigilant and was struggling at school. His experience of school is a lot more positive and his hyper-vigilance has reduced (except when anxious or tired).


I was having a difficult time at school, feeling stressed and emotional. The treatment was really relaxing and Julie made me feel at ease. I felt great afterwards and much happier, as if things were going to be easier to deal with.

I had constant muzzy head, fatigue, balance, night sweats and neck pain; welcome to the menopause – HRT was prescribed. I also had tingling in the fingers, which was diagnosed as poly carpal syndrome for which surgery was recommended. After CranioSacral therapy… NO HRT, and NO surgery for me.


My teenage daughter has had a few treatments and is always ‘a different kid’ afterwards; visibly much happier and more relaxed, which is wonderful during exams and stressful teenage years. As well as releasing stress, Julie’s CranioSacral sessions have also greatly helped with easing aches and pains.


I had been having severe pain problems with my right arm and shoulder. Julie found the source of that problem in the first session and the symptoms resolved. She also identified things that had happened to my body in the past, without any prior prompts, and has been working to resolve those too. I feel so wonderfully relaxed and at peace during my sessions.


I had no experience of CranioSacral therapy, even though I have been a therapist and tutor of alternative/complementary therapies for many years. I must admit I was amazed at both the treatment itself and the skill with which Julie applied it. I could almost feel the effect as it happened.


When I first went to see Julie I felt that my life was stuck. I was in an unsuitable job which was bringing me down, but for some reason I could not move on. From the beginning the results were remarkable. I was invited to three interviews and within six months had found a new job where I am far happier. I have regained my ‘joie de vivre’ and life keeps getting better.


I have recommended Julie’s treatments to many friends and also to patients who have pains which doctors struggle to explain and can often be caused by stress which needs releasing in the central nervous system rather than injury. They have also seen great results.
